Business Planning Workshop
Tuesday 7th July 2009
Walcha Together with the assistance of the Department of State and Regional Development are planning to run a Business Planning Workshop on the evening (5.30pm) of the 7th July, 2009 at the Walcha Golf Club. Samantha Muller from Muller Enterprises will facilitate the 3 hour workshop. The aim of the workshop is to get ideas for Walcha’s future economic development, to enthuse our community and to develop a plan to make things happen in our town. The Workshop will be an interactive workshop involving all those attending. Topics for discussion will include:
· Identifying our assets and opportunities
· Identifying our major challenges. E.g. How can we involve more young people in Walcha’s development, and how can we increase the enthusiasm of our community?
· What attracts people to Walcha-both visitors and residents. How can we attract more visitors? Do we want more visitors?
· Our population-is it growing, static or declining
· The positive and negative aspects that may impact on marketing Walcha
· Identifying gaps in products and services in Walcha
· Identifying potential business opportunities for Walcha
· Looking at current events and festivals- can we build on these? Should we do something different?
The Workshop is open to everybody in the Walcha community and Walcha Together would encourage our business houses, Walcha Council, our volunteer organizations, sporting organizations, Churches, artists, gardeners, school students, indigenous members of our community and any interested individuals to attend.
