Situated at the junction of the Oxley Highway and Thunderbolts Way, Walcha is an
ideal stopover between Sydney and Brisbane. Thunderbolts Way runs from Uralla to the Pacific Hwy near Raymond Terrace and the Oxley Highway leaves the New England Hwy at Bendemeer and joins the Pacific Hwy at Port Macquarie via Wauchope.

Walcha Road Train Station is 17 kms west of Walcha (bus service available from
town) and is serviced daily by rail going south (Tamworth) in the morning and leaves at 9.52 am and arrives back northbound at 5.23 pm. Tickets can be purchased at Linmac Engineering P—6777 2822 or Phone CountryLink on 132232 for further information.

Walcha’s light aircraft landing strip is situated only minutes from the Walcha Township. Other Air Services including daily flights to and from Sydney, are provided at Armidale Airport (45 minutes drive) and Tamworth Airport (1 hour 10 minutes drive).
